A Message from the founder and his long-time side kick

Many businesses claim transparency, then shut you out when you ask questions. Not us. We told you we are small, we told you we love the environment and we told you how we did a lot of projects in a fraction of the big agency cost. All of that is true.

Robert What you may not know is anything about who we are. Robert, pictured on the left with his daughter, is an avid outdoorsman in his own right and lives on a mountainside where the company is headquartered. That shot is out by his house. He loves coffee, since he is after all a computer programmer who gets little sleep between work and a newborn baby. He loves growing beards, probably because he lost most of his hair on top so he compensates by growing all he can on his face. He is also a real genius, when he is not super-tired from all the sleep depravation.

The other person you see there in the very loud Aloha shirt and white sunglasses is Cory, the sidekick. He loves the islands, the beach and of course those Aloha shirts. Since he is married without children (for now), he pictured the best thing in his life with him which is his beautiful wife Shannon (at her college graduation this summer). He lives in sunny southern California, and gets to pay for it too. Basically, the shirts are always a conversation starter and a change of pace from everyone else so that is what he wears...always. If you ever meet him, you will see one of those shirts for sure.

What you cannot possibly know is that these two, this dynamic duo, this ying and yang combo, are best friends. We form a partnership that is very unique, in that we provide the best of all worlds for our clients through our very different skill sets. Robert designs and programs (you now the meat and potatoes of this business), Cory does the rest (like sales, client follow-up, paperwork, recruiting, collections, testing and all the other small things that no one knows about in the web business). Cory The difference we are trying to communicate should be very palpable. We would rather be loathed for who we are than liked for who we are not. We are not a large agency. We don't provide ancillary services like focus groups, creativity sessions and video production. Those costly pieces we leave to real pros so we can focus on what we do very well. That also saves our clients money, since those who claim to do it all and dabble surely end up taking longer than expected and that means money.

We also do not have a set-in-stone process for projects, as each one is different and comes from clients who are under very different constraints. That means we go with the flow, trying to guide and get done as soon as we can within reason. Why waste time on a bloated process with meeting after meeting if it is not necessary? The answer is we don't. When we have questions, we ask. And that is the secret. We ask lots of questions so we know what our clients want and what they need, which sometimes are very different things.

So, you should now get the feeling this is a very different web development firm. We work with small businesses as well as very large ones. We have no preset limitations. We let the client determine what they want, what they can afford and how long they want to take to do it. So, if your interest is peaked, why not check out The Great Artdoors today.
